Ladhar, IAS, Commissioner Patiala Range and our guest of honour Mr. Anil Garg, PCS, SDM, Patiala and you all to our world of Budha Dal Public School, Patiala.
I stand before you rejoicing in the success that we have achieved over the years. We wish to correct the shortcomings of the past and try to fare better in the future. Today we look forward with a sense of hope towards greater growth and progress. The school as an educational institution for 27years has achieved many feats and climbed new heights.

The ethos of the school has always been geared towards all round development of the child. Various activities are conducted for the achievement of this goal. We lay emphasis on Gratitude, independence, environment etc. and co-related activities are carried forth from the Junior most class to the senior most class throughout the session.

We are proud to acknowledge that we have had good results, achievements in academics and co-curricular activities this year. I proudly place before you the achievements of the students in this annual report.

I am happy to inform you that in Class XII 23 students secured 90% & above and 130 students secured 80% & above. The highest scored was 96% by Chestha Chawla from the commerce stream. In the Non-Medical stream our topper – Keshav Kumar secured 92.8%. Amandeep Kaur and Anchal Aggarwal both medical students secured 91% and 90% respectively and are at present studying at Govt. Medical College, Patiala. The Humanities Stream has also been doing well over the years with Ishwani topping it.
I congratulate all my students and their parents.

The CCE programme was initiated in the school a year back and our children have not only adapted well but have also excelled at the Class X level too. 12 students scored a 10 CGPA and we can boast of a 100% result in class X CBSE Examination. I take this opportunity to not only congratulate but also applaud these children for their diligent hardwork. Besides this laurel, 66 of our children scored a total of 9 CGPA points and above.

Toil is a necessary pre-requisite for any success. The sports arena exemplifies it clearly. Our school has also showed admirable commitment in sports and games.
A remarkable land mark was established when our children participated in Invitational World Cup Indoor Cricket Tournament held at Bangalore. The almighty blessed us further as this team won the second prize. Their skillful play has resulted in us basking in this glory. The team was accompanied by their coach Mr. Jagjit Singh. In addition we still have some more feathers in our cap to boast of Gurdeep Singh and Sarmandeep Singh won the National Gold in Handball. Gurlal Singh and Tarun bagged the National Gold in Athletics. Ketki Kaushal and Kawish Bawa were awarded the National Gold in Fencing. Gursimran Singh Mokha won the National Gold for Rifle Shooting. It is credible to make mention that 26 of our students participated at the National Level.

The school offers a variety of Hobbies. It encourages each child to pursue his/her interest in debating, elocution, painting or writing articles for the school magazine. Many Inter school activities are held through out the year under the aegis of the Patiala Sahodaya School Complex giving each child an opportunity to exhibit his/her talent.
• Samdish Sethi of class XI and Amandeep Kaur of Class VI won the first prize in Inter School English Declamation.
• Gurleen Kaur of Class VII Sparsh Goel and Manjot Singh of Class IX bagged the first prize in Hindi Quiz Competition.
• Kritika of Class VII won the second prize at National Level Challengers a Competition for Abacus and Mental Mathematics.
• A very note worthy laurel was bagged by our children in “Technothelon” conducted by IIT Guwhati. Many of our children participated. Ridhima and Deepshi of class X achieved the 4th Rank in the Country where as Pratibha and Chahat achieved 9th Rank in the Country. They even won a seven day trip to Guwhati.
• In the Inter school English Song Competition our school team bagged the first prize.
• The school science team bagged the second prize in the Inter Institutional Science Fair for its “Static Model”.
• At Declamation and Debate our children are excellent. This was well proved by Devdarsh of Class XII who won the first prize and a cash prize of Rs. 5,000/- , Jhanvi Gupta and Rabab Handa of Class XI were judged as the best team in Inter School Debate Competition and Jhanvi Gupta was titled as the best speaker of the day.

Another commendable achievement which I would like to bring to your notice is that 13 of our children did well at the IIT competitive examination and 28 children fared well in the AIEEE examination. Today they are studying in various reputed engineering institutions of the country. Arshdeep Aulakh fared well at the SRM examination.
We have many jewels in our crown but I would particularly like to make mention of Anshul Bawa who has been awarded a monthly stipend of Rs. 4000/- and annual contingency grant of Rs. 16000/- in the first year of scholarship by The ‘Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana’.

The list of achievements is endless and gives me a lot of satisfaction, filling me with more enthusiasm to reach new zenith.
The management has always been vibrant and supportive with regards to infrastructure of the school. It gives me great pleasure in announcing the addition of an English Lab, Renovation of Computer Lab and Beautification of the School Gate which has not only upgraded the facilities but also put us at par with the techno world. The introduction of online academic result for all classes from III to XII has has been introduced and the school issued computerized report cards from this session onwards.

Moreover we have a committed band of 200 teachers, Administrative Staff and Supportive staff who are completely committed to the spirit of the institution. I would like to take this opportunity to mention that with their spirit of dedication and guidance they offer, our students have been able to achieve the desired objectives.
Conclusively by experience, I can say that I’ve learnt that everyone wants to live on the top of the mountain but I want my students and my team to remember that all the happiness and growth occurs while you’re climbing it.

I end with a quotation which sums up my belief towards educating children to reach high,
for stars lie hidden in your soul. Dream deep, for every dream precedes the goal.

Remember Children

“No one succeeds without efforts…
Those who succeed owe their success to their perseverance.”
